Fear Dream

When we sleep, dreams appear to be real, then we wake & our dreamworlds drop away..
The past & future are not linear. The more mental & emotional formations we hold onto from the past,
the more the past becomes the present.
It is our fear that gives power to that which we fear.. Face your fears & there will be nothing to face.
No conditioned phenomena is permanent. It is like a great wall which never existed.
Let go of yourself. Break bread with the past.
See the dream as the dream & watch it, like the wind, pleasantly blow away.

Who’s mind sees this World?
Yours or Amitabha’s?
Which mind reads these words?
Yours or the Tathagata’s?
Today look around every direction…
What use is freedom,
without freedom in our minds?
Do you not taste the poison?
Do you not see we are slaves?
Each being must stand up & face themselves
Only Buddha can see the Buddha
Stop quoting the past & liberate your mind
Then grab a can & spray me in the face,
until both I & the Buddha go blind.

then just do what comes naturally.

Tears For All Beings
~
Tears rain the pain of all beings*
this voice illuminates destiny
this body & mind
shows me the mystery
endless ocean of tears
pour from this head swimming
shows me the mystery*
shows me the beauty*
Today life has brought me perfect suffering
& shown me what still is sleeping
I vow to penetrate this great matter
I vow to give what can not be taken away
for the sake of all beings
I call out to the unnamed Bodhisattvas…
to help me when I can not see*
Tears rain from the pain of all beings
The Buddha way is unsurpassable
I vow to be*

Refuge Prayer

At the foot of the Bodhi tree,
beautifully seated, peaceful, & smiling,
the living source of understanding & compassion,
to the Buddha I go for refuge.
~
The path of mindful living,
leading to healing, joy, & enlightenment,
the way of peace,
to the Dharma I go for refuge.
~
The loving & supportive community of practice,
realizing harmony, awareness, & liberation,
to the Sangha I go for refuge.
~
I am aware that the Three Gems are within my heart.
I vow to realize them.
I vow to practice mindful breathing & smiling,
looking deeply into things.
I vow to understand living beings & their suffering,
to cultivate compassion & loving kindness,
& to practice joy & equanimity.

invisible knots
Posted by: | CommentsI was recently exposed to what I was told to be a version of the Tao Te Ching, Chapter 27. I tried searching for this version on-line & could not find it. If anyone knows where it is from, could they please let me know? To me, the fist line reeks of division. Below I am posting this version along with commentary I have added. – Fugon
I should bind myself to life with invisible knots
that can not be untied by any man
and I should be forever bound
and forever free
[ Commentary ]
it can not be tied or untied
Trying to bind yourself to life
is like trying to freeze snow or boil steam.
You & life are not 2 separate things,
so what is there to bind yourself to?
Invisible knots? yes!
When you see that you yourself are the rope,
there are no more divisions,
you are the captive – you are the rigger – you are the rope
completely bound – completely free.
